About This Course

The purpose of this webinar is to review some of the obligations and responsibilities imposed by the Income Tax legislation and IRD on payments made to employees.

It will cover the way in which the legislation taxes a variety of payments to employees.

Specifically, the webinar will consider:

  • Who is an employee?
  • Salaries and wages, bonuses, extra pay
  • Other payments to employees, including payments for golden handshakes, golden parachutes, restraint of trade, and hurt, humiliation, or loss of dignity.

There will be an introduction to allowances/reimbursements, the entertainment rules, and Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT).
