Navigate tax and GST challenges of online international sales.

With the advent of Covid, and lockdowns becoming more common, consumers have turned to online shopping as a way to maintain some normality.
Many businesses have been forced to become more agile and move to online retailing. With online retailing, businesses gain access to customers not only in New Zealand but also overseas. While this can increase sales, there are many tax consequences of selling in overseas jurisdictions. The implications will ultimately depend on the country of the customer and may result in significant GST/VAT and income tax implications.
This course will look at some of the more common situations for New Zealand businesses selling online and the factors that can result in creating offshore tax issues.
