Assessing Client Needs and Implementing Effective Financial Strategies

True financial planning is a collaborative process between a client and advisor that encompasses all aspects of an individual’s financial life. However, what does the financial planning process look like and what should the approach be? By examining academic theory and illustrative case examples, this course will explore how financial planning changes over a client’s lifetime. We will discuss common investor types and approaches to financial planning, including traditional and reverse glidepath theory.

David Peters is the Founder and Owner of Peters Professional Education in Richmond, VA. He brings over 20 years of experience in financial services, including three years in the hedge fund industry and six years in insurance. He also co-authored the Virginia CPA Ethics course in 2018, 2019, and 2020, which is a requirement for all CPAs licensed in Virginia.
